They Changed Their Mind When They Couldn’t Change Us
Wait they have hearts? Apparently so, or at least that’s what they’re claiming, a change of heart. Americans want cannabis legalized and the American government is taking full advantage of it. Have you heard about the Farm Bill coming up and how it can help legalize cannabis?
Did you hear it will cut food stamps and could require drug testing? Just curious? The American government is filled with weasels, but America isn’t alone. Every country around the world has people who think everyone should live the way they do or at least the way they’re told to.
For those of us who have been a part of the cannabis community and culture for 40 decades, we know what it will take for legalization to happen. It’ll take a shift in finances. When political leaders realize the cannabis, sector pays better than any other, the tides will change.
Thankfully, this is what we’re starting to see. Those who have opposed cannabis legalization in the past and help to enforce laws that imprisoned millions suddenly have had a change of heart. Apparently, they were just able to sit down and read the facts about cannabis.
Or maybe they just learned how to read all together. perhaps they realized they could profit more supporting cannabis. I’d be willing to say it’s the last of the three though the second option could also be very likely.
U.S. Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein is a vicariously vicious villainous vile vermin very verbally versed vanquishing voters votes on cannabis. She just had a change of heart after talking to kids in California who use medical marijuana. Why couldn’t she talk to the kids when she opposed Proposition 64? She must have known that cannabis was helping people when she voted against the Rohrabacher-Farr amendment in 2015. For sure she must have read some reports about the benefits of cannabis by the time when she participated in drafting a letter to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The letter warned the DOJ about the dangers of allowing states to legalize federally banned substances.
John Boehner, the 53rd Speaker of the United States House of Representatives has been “unalterably opposed” to cannabis legalization, until now that is. He went from his strong anti-cannabis stance opposing and demonizing the plant to, “I’m convinced de-scheduling the drug is needed so we can do research, help our veterans, and reverse the opioid epidemic ravaging our communities.” It makes you wonder if he knows anything about the cannabis culture or community? He suddenly supports a community that supports everyone and represents unity. This is the same guy that is against gay marriage correct? He did say “Studies show that children best flourish when one mom and one dad are there to raise them”, didn’t he?
It’s not Just American Politicians, Canadian Politicians Do It Too
Former Toronto Police Chief Julian Fantino is now the Executive Chair of a medical marijuana company. This is a man that calls three years ago a “different era.” He also compared cannabis legalization to murder saying “I guess we can legalize murder too and then we won’t have a murder case. We can’t go that way.” What about “Legalization is an irresponsible policy that only puts dangerous drugs on the streets and in our communities and sends the wrong message to children that recreational drug use is okay.” — Fantino July 30, 2014. Does he remember this? It seems like a sudden change of heart to me.
Raf Souccar, retired Deputy Commissioner of Federal and International Policing and a RCMP member for 34 years is another one who had a sudden change of heart. This is someone who also openly opposed cannabis legalization. So, let me get this straight. After 34 years of hearing the stories of the people he helped arrest and all those who have opposed cannabis prohibition in acts of civil disobedience, he just changed his mind all of a sudden? Ok, I guess. He’s now the CEO of Aleafia Total Health Care (THC).
American politicians, Canadian politicians, it doesn’t matter, they’re all the same. They can’t seem to read or hear until suddenly standing against cannabis doesn’t serve in their best interest any longer. Maybe there is a sickness effecting only politicians. Perhaps it’s time for some new ones and time to tell the old ones their time is up.
The only good thing that comes from the change of heart these people have is that people have a better chance for access to cannabis without the fear of demonization and incarceration. If these people can help shift the tides of cannabis legalization and tip the scales of injustice toward the people, then fine.
It doesn’t mean I have to like them though. They still hurt millions over the course of their careers and now stand to profit off of the blood, sweat, and tears of the community. I guess we’ll see if it’s all for vote, money, fame, or if they really had a change of heart. Only time will tell.
