Cannabis Friendly Nature Travel Destinations – Feed the Tree Hugging Hippy in Your Soul
In most cases everyone who enjoys taking a toke of ganja loves to be in nature and experience the beauty of the great outdoors. For many years when it came to traveling to a cannabis friendly destination most people only thought of Amsterdam. Luckily laws are starting to change regarding cannabis in many places and it is opening the door for cannabis friendly travel to other destinations. Coincidentally many of the states in the United States where cannabis is legal, have amazing nature-scapes that are sure to be enjoyed by all.
Currently there are four states in the United States that have legalized recreational cannabis. Three of these states have implemented legal marijuana dispensaries where consumers can purchase cannabis including travelers. Currently Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado have legal recreational cannabis laws and of those four you can travel to three of them and legally purchase cannabis with Alaska being the exclusion. Let’s look at some of the amazing places to visit in these marijuana friendly destinations.
Colorado was the first state in the United States to implement a recreational marijuana Market. Colorado is home to the beautiful Rocky Mountains but also offers many other beautiful outdoor destinations that you will be sure to enjoy with or without a few tokes of the herb. When visiting Colorado I would highly suggest taking a trip to the Garden of the Gods just a few minutes from Colorado Springs. While in this area I would also highly suggest taking a trip to the summit of Pikes Peak which will take you to over 11,000 foot in elevation and offer views you will not find anywhere else.
Oregon offers exquisite beauty ranging all the way from the Pacific Ocean to mountains and thick forests. When traveling in Oregon I would recommend driving the Pacific Coast Highway also known as Highway 101 which is a beautiful stretch of road that travels up the Oregon coastline and offers views of the Pacific Ocean, mountains and beautiful farmland. Along this route you will locate Hugs Inlet. I would highly suggest stopping here and enjoying the majestic oceanfront caves and waterfall.
Last but not least just up the coast line from Oregon you will cross over the Columbia River and enter into Washington State. If traveling on the highway mentioned above you will come across a great dispensary called Mr. Doobees that offers some incredible deals on amazing and hard to find strains that will elevate your senses. While in Washington you can take in the rainforest and there are many different places where you can camp alongside the river or inside the rainforest. The Olympic National Forest is one of my favorite places to visit in Washington while taking in the beauty of legal cannabis and the great outdoors. From random hidden waterfalls to the echo of owls in the night it is sure not to disappoint.
These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all of the beauty that these cannabis friendly destinations hold.
