High Expectations Of What Weed Should Do What

Is it just me or have people put unprecedentedly high expectations on weed? They claim it cures this and fixes that. Even those without any basic knowledge are experts after hearing the breakdown of how weed should make you feel by a YouTube video, short article, or an infographic. Remember when a bag of weed was a bag of weed? Some weed was better than others. Do you remember brick weed? What about Christmas Tree Bud or Roadkill Skunk. There were a handful of strains compared to today’s plethora of cannabis strains.

Today you can custom blend your mood tailored between indica, sativa, and hybrid cannabis strains. They say sativa will get you off to a great start while also helping carry you through the day. A hybrid will help you maintain into your afternoon helping to give you energy and clarity while easing tension. A good heavy Indica is just the thing necessary to relax unwind and drift off into a peaceful Bliss.  All I have to say is that the “Power of Suggestion” is strong as fuck. Personally I think a lot of people would stick their head in a lit fire pit if you told them they could see the devil.

I’ve always found that cannabis was a mood-thing for me. If I was in a bad mood it helped me get in a better mood. If I was in a good mood it made things that much better. If I was laughing I would laugh more if I was playing I would play harder. I used to love to smoke and go surfing, ride bikes, skateboard, rollerblade, and hike.

Today like many of my fellow stoners, I face a more grown up life that holds many responsibilities which require what seems to be my constant attention. Mary Jane is still there with me helping to keep me sane. Not alcohol, over-the-counter meds, or prescription pills. Nowadays I love to smoke weed and work, work, and work some more. Then it’s more work while I work and figure out ways to pay bills that keep rolling in while working. All the while working some more until I can manage to work time to hike into the wood away from it all with a sack of nuggs. Now that’s a stoner thought!

It’s never been a strain of cannabis that does any one thing for me. Sativas don’t keep me up at night and indica strains don’t put me to sleep. I’ve yet to find this to be true about any strains of pot out there. Durban Poison a landrace sativa that keeps many people wired and active I found to provide a pleasant high. Chemdawg another sativa doesn’t make me want to go play Frisbee golf hiking or hit the gym after blazing one. I find it to be a super stoney pot. Depending on what I’m doing it just helps make everything that much better.

I’m not a doctor but I have been smoking pot nearly my entire life. I’ll be 41 in a few months. I truly believe 35 of those years have been spent consuming this plant I love. I was brought up in a family we’re smoking was normal. If I could tell people one thing about the emerging cannabis industry with all the technical and scientific data is that it’s absolutely amazing. Just don’t take it all to heart. Don’t pass up a sativa just because you think it’s going to make you wired or Indica because you think it’s going to make you tired.

The Power of suggestion is very strong. This tool has been utilized throughout history to influence the thought of humankind. It’s employed today in marketing, advertising, sales, and virtually every other trend driven industry.

Today more than ever the power of suggestion has an amazing influence on culture in general. Internet influencers have become millionaires promoting products and sharing doing what they love with the world aka their millions of followers. Don’t let somebody tell you how you will feel. You be the judge of your own thoughts and feelings. Cannabis can and usually does treat each individual a little bit differently. So who’s to say a certain strain will treat you a certain way. Thinking like this could have you passing by on powerful medicine and/or an incredible high.

The best advice in my opinion is to try them all. Keep track on the mood you were in in and the way each particular strain makes you feel. The more you try the more you’ll know. Before long, you’ll have a list of favorites that do the trick for you.  Instead of having high expectations about what cannabis strains will do what for you, have the knowledge of which ones actually do what for you. This way when it comes to the strains that do the trick for you, they’ll live up to your high expectations.
